If an appliance breaks or you have a loose bracket, don’t panic and don’t try to bend the wire or pull it out. Follow these simple steps to assist with the concern until you can see your orthodontist.

Step 1: Take a small pea-sized piece of wax

Step 2: Place the wax over any sharp edges on the dry tooth or bracket surface.

Step 3: Call your orthodontist to schedule an appointment to remedy the issue.

*You may use wet cotton if you do not have your wax available.
