  1. Pick water over juice or sugary drinks: Sugary drinks such as juices promote tooth decay and cavities. They are dangerous for the dental health of your child, especially if they are exposed to the sugars for long periods of time throughout the day. We encourage you replace juice with water or dilute the juice with filling their sippy cups and baby bottles with ¾ water and ¼ juice. If your kid is not so much into water, you can also choose a sugar free juice option.
  1. Start cleaning their teeth as soon as you spot the first tooth, first with a damp cloth and then with a toothbrush: When your littles are, well little, clean their teeth with a rubber infant tooth and gum finger cleaner or use a damp cloth to get rid of the dangerous bacteria; once they grow use a soft toothbrush after each feeding. You are not only getting rid of the bacteria but also of the sugars that promote cavities.
  1. Begin flossing early: As soon as your childrens teeth are touching you can begin to teach them the importance of flossing. Flossing once a day reaches spots where their toothbrush can’t as well as removes excess food and plaque.
  1. Make sure that your toddler is getting enough fluoride: Talk with your us about how to make sure that your kid is getting the right amount of fluoride.
